Saudi Arabia – Conversation between Catherine Colonna and her counterpart (2 Jun. 2022)

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna spoke yesterday by telephone with her Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.

The ministers underscored the intensity of French-Saudi relations and lauded the increase in political, economic and cultural exchanges. They expressed their wish to expand cooperation on security and regional stability.

They also discussed the war in Ukraine and its consequences. Ms. Colonna reiterated the position of France and the EU and expressed the need to respond to threats to food security in the region as a result of the war instigated by Russia.
