Q : Does France share the U.S. analysis following the report published by U.S. intelligence services accusing Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of approving the operation against journalist Jamal Khashoggi? Do you want to expand European sanctions relating to this case?

A : We are familiar with the report published by U.S. intelligence services.

Together with its European partners, on November 22, 2018, France imposed sanctions on 18 Saudi nationals in conjunction with the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.

We have consistently demanded that the facts be clearly established on this extremely serious crime, that all necessary investigations be completed, and that those responsible be brought to justice.
