France condemns the Houthi attack on two Saudi oil tankers in the strait of Bab al-Mandeb during the night of July 24.

It reaffirms that it is vital to keep shipping lanes in the region open and to ensure their security.

We call on all the parties to the Yemeni conflict to exercise restraint and to swiftly resume negotiations under the authority of the United Nations.
