Q: What is your response to the threats Vladimir Putin issued yesterday in his speech to parliamentary leaders?

A: Since the beginning of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, France’s position has been unwavering. We call on Russia to abide by its international commitments, to end its aggression, which is in flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international law, and to withdraw its armed forces.

We are showing our support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by providing that country with humanitarian, economic, financial, diplomatic and military aid, which we have decided to step up and continue over the long term. That was the message conveyed once again by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna to her G20 counterparts meeting today in Bali.
