Q: What is your reaction to the suspension of Russian gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria? Is Russia in breach of its obligations and are you afraid there will be repercussions for gas supplies in Europe?

A: France stands in total solidarity with its European partners in the face of this latest Russian blackmail in the area of gas supplies. This situation illustrates the need to strengthen European strategic autonomy and reduce our energy dependencies in line with the Declaration adopted at the Versailles Summit this past March. That is why we are continuing to work with our EU partners to guarantee a reliable energy supply and swiftly establish alternatives to Russia.
