Russia – Closure of the Deutsche Welle offices (4 Feb. 2022)

France laments the decision announced by the Russian authorities on February 3 to ban the broadcasting of Deutsche Welle and to close the German media outlet’s Moscow offices without any legal motive.

France defends the freedom of expression and the freedom of the press both in Russia and throughout the world. The freedom of information is a fundamental right to which France is deeply committed. This right should be protected everywhere. We stand in solidarity with Germany and the employees of Deutsche Welle’s Moscow offices.
