Romania – Medical assistance for the victims of the fire on October 30 (November 12, 2015)

In order to demonstrate its solidarity with Romania following the tragic fire at a nightclub in Bucharest on October 30, which killed more than 50 people and seriously injured several dozen others, France has made arrangements to provide medical support in order to help treat the injured, in cooperation with the Romanian medical teams.

Two French specialists in the treatment of severe burns provided by the Ministry of Health have therefore been working alongside their counterparts in Bucharest’s hospitals since November 8, at the request of the Romanian authorities.

This arrangement will be adapted in due course in order to meet the changing needs of the injured.

France has also expressed its readiness to receive patients in specialist medical facilities that come under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense.
