FYROM - Prespa Agreement on the renaming of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia – Vote in Parliament (11 January 2019)

France welcomes the final vote on January 11 by the Parliament of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on the constitutional amendments required by the Prespa Agreement reached on June 17, 2018, between this country and Greece.

This is a critical step toward the entry into force of this historic agreement aimed at ending a bilateral dispute that has lasted for more than a quarter of a century.

As President Macron indicated, the Prespa Agreement is good for the country, the region and Europe.

France hopes that the Greek Parliament will soon vote in favor of ratifying the agreement.
