Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, was going to Qatar on 5 September, accompanied by around 20 businesses, major groups and SMEs, to support our offer, particularly as part of the preparations for the 2022 Football World Cup.
Matthias Fekl had a meeting with the finance and transport ministers, as well as the Minister of Municipality and Environment. He also met the Secretary-General of the World Cup organizing committee.
At these meetings, all issues linked to our economic presence was discussed with the Qatari authorities – among other things, the social and environmental responsibility of our companies.
In 2015, French exports rose sharply by 88.7% compared to the same period in 2014, amounting to €2.7 billion. During the same year, 2015, more than €8 billion-worth of civilian and military contracts were concluded by French companies in Qatar.
