Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna met with Portuguese Foreign Minister João Cravinho during his trip to Paris for the France-Portugal cultural season, which is being held in both France and Portugal until the end of October and which attests to the excellence of the countries’ bilateral relationship.

The ministers discussed the energy challenge, confirming that they fully support Europe’s commitment to keeping prices under control and securing the energy supply. They applauded the success of the first meeting of the European Political Community, which took place on October 6 in Prague, highlighting the ways in which this initiative will strengthen continental Europe’s resilience and stability. They talked about several international topics of shared interest, in particular, the Sahel and the partnership between the EU and the region encompassing Latin America and the Caribbean, and reiterated the importance of maintaining the EU’s unity and solidarity faced with the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
