Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will visit the Philippines from June 27 to 28 in order to co-chair, together with Ramon Lopez, Minister of Trade of the Philippines, the 8th Joint Economic Committee. The work will focus on prospects for economic cooperation, notably in the areas of infrastructure, transport, renewable energy and agriculture, and will be enhanced by the attendance of a delegation of companies led by MEDEF International.

The minister of state will also discuss these topics with Ernesto Pernia, Director-General of the National Economic and Development Authority.

During his visit, the minister of state will also meet with Teodoro Locsin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in order to discuss all areas of our bilateral cooperation and to highlight the close attention we pay to the human rights situation. The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss security issues, notably in the maritime field and with respect to the fight against terrorism, as well as the cooperation projects between France and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including in the area of environmental protection. These discussions will be consistent with France’s inclusive vision of the Indo-Pacific region, with ASEAN at its center.

The minister of state will meet with French NGOs, which have a strong presence in the Philippines, in order to reaffirm our support for their work.
