North Korea – Missile launches (October 14, 2022)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms the new ballistic missile launch conducted by North Korea on October 14 in violation of the UN Security Council Resolutions. France also notes with serious concern North Korea’s October 13th statements in which it claims to have conducted launches of strategic long-range missiles capable of delivering tactical nuclear weapons. These statements, together with North Korea’s military provocations north of the Demilitarized Zone, have led to an alarming increase in tensions on the peninsula.

France once again urges North Korea to comply with its international obligations without delay, return to the negotiating table and immediately cease its destabilizing actions.

France stresses its determination to work together with its partners to continue pursuing the goal of North Korea’s complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization and to encourage the establishment of dialogue among all parties.
