North Korea – Missile launches (Oct.9, 2022)

Share

France reiterates its deep concern over North Korea’s continuation of its nuclear programmes and their vectors, as demonstrated by the latest launch of two short-range ballistic missiles, carried out on 9 October.

France strongly condemns this latest round of launches and North Korean statements presenting the sequence of launches since 25 September as part of a simulation of tactical nuclear strikes. These actions are a flagrant violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions, and France urges North Korea to comply immediately with its international obligations and return to the negotiating table.

It emphasizes its determination to pursue, in conjunction with its partners, the goal of North Korea’s complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization, and to encourage dialogue between all the parties.
