North Korea - Missile launch (08 Mar. 2022)

France condemns the latest test of systems designed to be used in the development of a North Korean reconnaissance satellite, which took place on March 5.

This launch is the latest flagrant violation of UN Security Council resolutions that bar North Korea from using ballistic missile technology.

France once again urges North Korea to immediately comply with its international obligations, to return to the negotiating table without delay and to commit in good faith to a process to completely, verifiably and irreversibly give up its weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs.

We emphasize once again that the current international situation cannot provide North Korea with an opportunity to violate its obligations.
