North Korea – Firing of a ballistic missile (29 April 2017)

Preliminary evidence suggests that North Korea has again launched a ballistic missile.

Despite its failure, this launch confirms the determination of the North Korean regime to develop operational nuclear capabilities and constitutes a threat to international peace and security. We have a collective responsibility to respond in a firm and decisive manner.

France calls on North Korea to immediately comply with its international obligations and to ensure the complete, verifiable and irreversible dismantlement of its nuclear and ballistic programs. North Korea must immediately and unconditionally refrain from any gesture that could further increase tensions in the Korean peninsula or undermine international peace and security.
