North Korea – Adoption of EU sanctions (12 december 2022)

Share

On December 12, the European Union adopted new sanctions against eight individuals and four entities because of their involvement in North Korean ballistic and nuclear programs and in circumventing international sanctions.

These latest restrictive measures are aimed at responding to North Korea’s stepped-up ballistic missile tests in violation of UN Security Council resolutions, including the firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile on November 18.

France urges North Korea to comply with its international obligations, to return to the negotiating table, and to engage in a good-faith process to completely, verifiably and irreversibly dismantle its WMD and ballistic missile programs.
