Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (9 December 2020)

France welcomes the encouraging discussions initiated between the Arab countries of the Gulf with a view toward reconciliation.

France notably welcomed the efforts of Kuwait, whose mediation it has supported since the beginning of the crisis, aimed at establishing the conditions necessary for easing tensions over the long term.

France maintains close relations with each of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Peaceful relations between these states is a necessary condition for the region’s security and stability.
