Nigeria – Niger – Boko Haram attacks (August 15, 2017)

France utterly condemns the attacks carried out on August 15 at the entrance to a camp for displaced persons in the town of Mandarari in Borno State (Nigeria), which killed around 30 people and injured more than 80 others.

We extend our condolences to the bereaved and wish the injured a speedy recovery.

France takes this opportunity to denounce the other atrocities committed by Boko Haram around Lake Chad, notably the murders and kidnappings that have been perpetrated since the beginning of July in Nguéléwa (Niger).

We pay tribute to the commitment of the security forces of the countries of the region in their efforts to combat terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin and renew our support for the joint multinational force created at the initiative of Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria and Chad.
