Niger – Conversation between Catherine Colonna and her counterpart (2 Jun. 2022)

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna spoke yesterday by telephone with Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Hassoumi Massaoudou.

The ministers noted the quality and intensity of our bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their joint wish to continue on this path.

The minister and her Nigerien counterpart also discussed the regional situation and collective efforts to combat terrorism in the region. Ms. Colonna applauded ECOWAS efforts in Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea while underscoring her concern over the growing number of atrocities against civilians in Mali and repeated attempts to manipulate information in that country.
