Netherlands – Visit by Clément Beaune (Oct. 28-29, 2021)

Clément Beaune, Minister of State for European Affairs, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, visited the Netherlands on October 28 and 29 with Barbara Pompili, Minister for the Ecological Transition.

The ministers met with Ben Knapen, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Tom de Bruijn, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation; Stef Blok, Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy; Dilan Yesilgöz-Zegerius, State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate; and Steven van Weyenberg, State Secretary for Infrastructure and Water Management. These meetings focused on the priorities of the French presidency of the Council of the European Union, which will begin on January 1, 2022, and especially climate and ecological goals; the ministers emphasized the importance of French-Dutch cooperation in that regard. Also on the agenda were European issues of concern and bilateral relations.

Mr. Beaune and Ms. Pompili visited the Oosterdokseiland heating network operated by Equans.

The visit concluded with a meeting with French companies that are playing a role in the Dutch ecological transition.
