Nepal – Update (May 6, 2015)

The most recent toll issued by the Nepalese authorities stands at 7,557 dead and almost 15,000 injured.

Nepalese and international rescue teams are continuing to make every effort to access the most remote areas. Our embassy is continuing to coordinate helicopter rotations.

As Laurent Fabius indicated this morning, we deplore the loss of 4 French citizens and are concerned for the 9 people reported as missing in Langtang Valley. Efforts on the ground are also continuing in order to find 30 people who remain unaccounted for.

A French medical team from EPRUS (Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Agency) is offering medical and psychological support in Katmandu to any of our compatriots who would like it.
