Myanmar – Attack on a school (May 14, 2025)

France strongly condemns the May 12th attack by Myanmar armed forces on a school in Depayin Township, which left several dozen dead and injured, mostly children.

In total contradiction with the ceasefire announced last week, this latest massacre of civilians is part of the junta’s strategy of indiscriminate attacks on the people of Myanmar from aerial bombing, even in areas hit a few weeks ago by a terrible earthquake.

France offers its condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones, and stands firmly with the people of Myanmar, calling once again for the respect of international humanitarian law, an end to the violence and a dialogue that includes all parties to the conflict.
