Mozambique – 40th anniversary of independence (June 25, 2015)

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Mozambique’s independence, France offers its congratulations to the authorities and people of that country which, after 16 years of civil war, succeeded in restoring political stability and returning to the path to economic and social development.

Historically a partner of Mozambique, a neighbor to the French islands in the Indian Ocean, France hopes to strengthen its bilateral relations with that country in all areas and to work together to ensure the success of COP21.

It was in this spirit that on March 12, Laurent Fabius received his counterpart, Oldemiro Baloi, and that France will welcome President Filipe Nyusi for an official visit in July.
