Mauritius – Visit to Port Louis by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne (11-13 March 2018)

Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, minister of state attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will represent France at the ceremonies marking the 50th anniversary of independence for the Republic of Mauritius on March 12, 2018, in Port Louis.

During this visit, three agreements will be signed that illustrate the excellence of our bilateral relationship and the dynamism of our partnership: an intergovernmental agreement on expanding cooperation – already very active – between Mauritian forces and the French Armed Forces in the Southern Indian Ocean (FAZSOI), and two agreements with the French Development Agency (AFD), the first dealing with the third study and capacity-building fund (FERC no. 3 on climate), and the second with the AFD’s granting of an EU subsidy to Business Mauritius as part of the SUNREF sustainable energy project.

During the festivities, France will send a message of friendship to the Republic of Mauritius with which it shares common values and will applaud the progress it has made in terms of development over the past 50 years.
