Mauritania – Meeting between Franck Riester and the Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Production Sectors (24 March 2021)

Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will meet today with Ousmane Mamoudou Kane, Mauritania’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors.

The two ministers will discuss the most important aspects of the economic and commercial relationship between our two countries as well as France’s support for Mauritania’s response to the health crisis, illustrated most notably by sending of medical equipment and donations from the French Development Agency. Mr. Riester will reiterate France’s readiness to support Mauritania’s socioeconomic development.

France and Mauritania cooperate closely on security and stability in the Sahel on the basis of common commitments taken at the N’Djamena and Nouakchott summits and by the Coalition for the Sahel.
