Situation in Mali (22 June 2020)

France shares the EU High Representative’s concern over the current sociopolitical crisis in Mali. The EU, the African Union, the UN and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) welcomed the peaceful nature of the protests and called on all actors to engage in dialogue and exercise restraint.

France supports ECOWAS’s efforts, which led to recommendations on ending the crisis. It encourages the Malian authorities to swiftly implement measures to ease the political conflict.
