Laurent Fabius, minister of foreign affairs and international development, met this morning with his Malian counterpart, Abdoulaye Diop.
The two ministers discussed the terrorist attacks in Bamako and Kidal and reiterated our countries’ joint determination to fight terrorism. Mr. Diop updated Mr. Fabius on the investigation into the Bamako attack.
Mr. Fabius and Mr. Diop also reviewed the status of inter-Malian negotiations. After the recent advance – the initialing of a peace agreement on March 1 in Algiers – they discussed ways to get all the parties to sign on to it and the means of implementing it.
