Annick Girardin, Minister of State for Development and Francophony, is in Bamako from 16 au 18 February to co-chair, with Malian Prime Minister Modibo Keita and European Commissioner Christos Stylianides, the fifth follow-up meeting to the Brussels conference on reconstruction, “Together for a new Mali”.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to assess the progress made since the launch conference of 15 May 2013, which enabled nearly €3.3 billion to be raised to support the country’s development.
At the meeting, Annick Girardin will sign conventions enabling the French Development Agency to finance the programme to support social and health development in the Mopti region and the project to support the development of rural territories in the Ségou and Timbuktu regions, for a total sum of €40 million.
During this visit to Mali, Annick Girardin will meet the President, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita. She will also meet representatives of civil society, young beneficiaries of the project to support integration into the workplace and former recipients of French government grants.
