France utterly condemns the attack against MINUSMA (United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali) to the north of the town of Bambara-Maoudé, in the Timbuktu region, which killed four Côte d’Ivoire peacekeepers and injured five others.

France extends its condolences to the families of the soldiers who died as well as to the Côte d’Ivoire authorities. It wishes the injured peacekeepers a speedy recovery.

France pays tribute to MINUSMA’s commitment. It reaffirms its support for the authorities of the Sahel countries in their fight against terrorism, which plays a key role in ensuring Mali’s stabilization.

The perpetrators of these attacks must be identified and held accountable for their crimes.
