Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Antananarivo from March 13 to 14.

He will meet with President of Madagascar Hery Rajaonarimampianina, Prime Minister Olivier Mahafaly Solonandrasana, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Henry Rabary-Njaka. These meetings will provide an opportunity to work on the implementation of the shared commitments to strengthening our partnership made during the meetings in Paris between the two heads of state in June 2017 and between the two foreign ministers on March 2.

Madagascar has chaired the Francophonie Summit since 2016; it will hand over the presidency at the next meeting scheduled to take place in Yerevan in November.

During his visit, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne will meet with the French community – which numbers nearly 25,000 people – in order to address security issues and the economic outlook for French businesses based in Madagascar.
