Madagascar – Aid to fight the plague (18 October 2017)

At the request of Madagascar’s authorities and in the wake of the plague epidemic, the crisis center of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is coordinating a humanitarian aid shipment to Madagascar in the form of specific medical supplies, and is working with the National Public Health Agency to send a group of medical experts.

This mission, to last three weeks, consists of doctors and specialized nursing staff. They will help coordinate the medical response to the epidemic put in place by the Madagascan authorities.

France will also take part in regional solidarity efforts implemented by the Indian Ocean Commission to support the fight against the epidemic in Madagascar, particularly through the shipment of appropriate supplies and equipment.
