Libya – Murder of Ethiopian Christians by Daesh (April 19, 2015)

France condemns the massacre in Libya of at least 28 people identified as Ethiopian Christians.

Following the ministerial meeting of the UN Security Council that Laurent Fabius chaired on March 27 in New York, France calls, more than ever, for the international community to make commitments to protect the victims of ethnic or religious violence.

This horrific crime, for which Daesh has claimed responsibility, also underscores the urgent need for a political solution to the crisis in Libya. We support the process of dialogue launched by Mr. Bernardino Leon, the goal of which is to allow Libyans to present a united front against terrorism.
