Following extensive discussions with the Libyan parties, a draft agreement has just been submitted by the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General.
This compromise is aimed at enabling the rapid forming of a national unity government to rebuild the Libyan institutions and economy, and combat terrorism and criminal networks.
The Libyan people is today facing a grave threat to its security, the integrity of its territory, and its sovereignty. Libya is a breeding ground for criminal actions by terrorist groups. This is why the Libyans must create a united front against terrorism without further delay.
France urges the Libyan parties to opt for compromise and unity by signing this agreement without delay. It stands by all Libyans who defend the higher interests of their country.
