Statement on the situation in Lebanon (28.09.24)

According to information available to us, Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, is believed to have been killed.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is liaising with the Lebanese authorities and France’s regional partners to prevent any destabilization or escalation. Messages have been sent to all parties.

The safety and protection of civilians must be guaranteed, as well as that of French nationals in the region, which is also our priority.
