Lebanon – Israeli airstrike on Beirut (November 24, 2025)

France is deeply concerned by the Israeli airstrike that hit Beirut on November 23, adding the risk of escalation to an already very tense situation.

France calls on all the parties to exercise restraint. It underscores the importance of using the Ceasefire Monitoring Mechanism to report threats. This framework, which the parties approved, is vital to avoiding unilateral actions and guaranteeing the safety of civilians, both in Lebanon and in Israel, in accordance with the cessation of hostilities agreement signed on November 27, 2024.

France reaffirms its commitment to the strict respect of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
