Q: Despite the European Commission’s recommendations, Kosovars do not have access to the Schengen visa. According to Pristina, France is one of the countries that is slowing down this process. Why is that? Will this topic be addressed at the EU-Western Balkans Summit?

A: The June 23rd European Union-Western Balkans leaders’ meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the possibility for countries in the region to fulfil their European perspective, among other topics.

With regard to visa liberalization for Kosovo, this issue is part of the roadmap that was adopted by the European Union, which includes a set of conditions that must be effectively fulfilled over the long term.
