Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan from May 9 to 13.

This visit is consistent with the strengthening of our bilateral relations with these two countries. It follows the telephone conversations between the minister for Europe and foreign affairs with his Kazakh counterpart on April 27 and with his Uzbek counterpart on May 3, and the meeting of the French-Kazakh Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation on April 29, co-chaired by the minister delegate.

In Tashkent, Franck Riester will co-chair the French-Uzbek Intergovernmental Economic Commission and will sign an economic roadmap. Several contracts and agreements will also be signed during this visit in various business sectors, as well as in the areas of academic and health cooperation.

In Kazakhstan, the minister delegate will sign, in Nur-Sultan, a 2030 roadmap on the strengthening of bilateral economic relations with Kazakhstan, which falls within the framework of the strategic partnership signed in 2008.

Mr. Riester is being accompanied during this visit by a delegation of approximately 20 companies, which will take part in sector-specific meetings and round tables.
