Kazakhstan - Abolition of the death penalty (28 Sept. 2020)

France applauds Kazakhstan’s ratification, on September 24, of the Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, in which that country marks its choice to permanently abolish the death penalty.

France reaffirms its unwavering opposition to the death penalty everywhere and in all circumstances and remains committed to its universal abolition.
