Jordan - Conversation with Ayman Safadi - Statement by Jean-Yves Le Drian (6 April 2021)

I spoke to my Jordanian counterpart, Mr Ayman Safadi, today, Tuesday 6 April.

I reiterated France’s commitment to the stability and security of Jordan, a strategic partner with whom we maintain a dialogue of trust on regional and security issues. The Amman Group countries’ efforts in support of the Middle East peace process fall within this framework.

France stands with King Abdullah II and the Jordanian authorities in helping the Kingdom confront the challenges it faces. In this respect, I highlighted the strong, long-standing ties uniting France and Jordan in the economic, cultural and security spheres, and in the framework of the fight against terrorism.
