Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, had a meeting yesterday with his Japanese counterpart, Mr Fumio Kishida.
The two ministers signalled our willingness to deepen our bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and defence fields and by facilitating contact between Japanese and French businesses.
The two ministers spoke of the main global challenges, on which our two countries see very much eye to eye, like the fight against terrorism, climate disruption, the preparation of the 2015 Paris climate conference and the fight against the Ebola epidemic. They also took stock of the situations in Ukraine, the Middle East, the Far East and Africa.
Mr Kishida also went to the offices of Charlie Hebdo, where he paid tribute to the victims of the attacks.
