Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Florence, Italy, from May 3 to 4.
The minister will deliver a speech at the State of the Union conference, which has been hosted every year since 2010 by the European University Institute in Florence; the 2019 edition will focus on “21st century democracy in Europe.”
Jean-Yves Le Drian will meet with Enrico Rossi, President of the Tuscany Region, and with Dario Nardella, Mayor of Florence, in a context of especially close cooperation between Tuscany and France. He will meet with French companies established in this region; France is Tuscany’s largest client, its largest supplier and second largest foreign investor.
During his visit, the minister will take part in the launch of the “Francia in scena” arts season with the Parade of Giants, an animated procession - a French-Italian co-production inspired by works from the Renaissance and Leonardo de Vinci -, created by French artist Léonard Martin, who is currently a resident fellow at the Académie de France in Rome - Villa Médicis.
