Italy – Trip by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne to Palermo and Rome (June 14 and 15)

Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, attached to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, is in Italy for a two-day visit.

In Palermo on June 14, he and Michelle Müntefering, the German Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, inaugurated the first Franco-German Cultural Institute, which will host artists in residence. This emblematic, resolutely European project is the culmination of an initiative spearheaded by the French President and German Chancellor on the occasion of the Treaty of Aachen.

In Palermo, the Minister of State met with Benedetto della Vedova, Under Secretary of State at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the public services provided by both our countries for our expatriate communities.

In Rome, he is meeting today with travel industry professionals to encourage Italian tourists to travel to France. He will meet with Massimo Garavaglia, Italy’s Minister of Tourism, on reviving tourism between our countries.
