Italy – Meeting between Jean-Yves Le Drian and his Italian counterpart (Paris, 11 Feb. 20)

Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will receive his Italian counterpart, Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today.

The ministers will discuss several international issues, notably including Libya, in the wake of the Berlin conference. They will reaffirm our two countries’ attachment to compliance with the arms embargo and the implementation of the ceasefire. Jean-Yves Le Drian and Luigi Di Maio will take stock of the situation in the Sahel where France and Italy are notably engaged within the framework of the Sahel Alliance. The two ministers will exchange views on the Iranian issue, Syria and the Middle East peace process. The ministers will also discuss the top European priorities, especially future relations with the UK and EU enlargement.
