Following the tripartite Summit between France, Egypt and Jordan of 18 May, and the commitment by the Heads of State to coordinate the humanitarian action of our three countries, the French, Egyptian and Jordanian Foreign Ministries held a coordination meeting by videoconference on Thursday, 3 June. Following on from the work of our three countries in the last few days to evaluate needs and raise resources, this meeting helped advance the concerted efforts by France, Egypt and Jordan on their plans to address the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian Territories, particularly the Gaza Strip.

Above and beyond the need for an immediate humanitarian response, the French, Egyptian and Jordanian representatives stressed the importance of stopping all unilateral measures that undermine the two-State solution and peace chances, as well as the necessity of upholding the status quo in the holy sites. They reaffirmed their commitment to the two-state solution in accordance with international law and the agreed parameters, the only solution that can lastingly fulfil the aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians.
