Q : What is France’s response to the comments made by Benjamin Netanyahu who announced plans “to apply Israeli sovereignty to the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea?”

A : France calls on the parties to refrain from any measure likely to undermine the two-state solution, the only way to satisfy the legitimate aspirations of the Israelis and the Palestinians. It reaffirms its attachment to the objective of a Palestinian state living in peace and security alongside the State of Israel, within internationally recognized borders and with Jerusalem as the capital of both states.
