What is your response to the violent assault on Pascal Boniface, the director of IRIS, upon his arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on April 16?
We regret this unacceptable assault.
Pascal Boniface, director of one of France’s leading think tanks dealing with international relations, was attending three conferences as part of a discussion series, at the invitation of the French consulate-general in Jerusalem and the Institut Français in Jerusalem.
Our consul-general in Jerusalem has publicly expressed the solidarity of the French authorities with Mr. Boniface in a communiqué issued on April 20. In particular, it reaffirmed our determination to combat the scourge of anti-Semitism in all its forms – which Pascal Boniface has regularly rejected – and underscored the dangers that its exploitation in other debates may pose.
