Q – The Israeli authorities have just announced that they would not allow several French deputies and senators, as well as MEPs, access to their territory. The latter had previously wished to meet with Marwan Barghouti and French-Palestinian lawyer Salah Hamouri, both of whom have been imprisoned. What is France’s response?
A – We have taken note of this information.
In general, we want all French parliamentarians to have access to all of the interlocutors they wish to meet in order to conduct their fact-finding missions.
We are paying close attention to this matter with respect to Israel as with respect to all countries that French elected officials visit.
