Ireland – Meeting between Nathalie Loiseau and Helen McEntee, Minister of State for European Affairs (25 July 2017)


Nathalie Loiseau, Minister for European Affairs, will receive her Irish counterpart, Helen McEntee, today.

The Ministers will notably discuss the future of Europe, specifically with respect to how to establish a Europe that can better protect its citizens, as called for by President Macron.

They will discuss the European digital single market, which France believes should be developed so that it can be effective and competitive, while placing proper emphasis on copyright protection and regulation.

Lastly, Nathalie Loiseau and Helen McEntee will take stock of the negotiations on the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union, including with respect to the border between Ireland and the United Kingdom, which is of particular significance for both of these countries, as it is for the European Union as a whole.
