Iraq – Rocket attack on Erbil (15 February 2021)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms last night’s rocket attack on Erbil which killed a contractor with the Global Coalition against Daesh and left several injured. It offers its condolences to the victim’s family and wishes those injured a speedy recovery. It assures the Kurdistan Regional Government, the residents of Erbil, our American allies, and all our partners in the Global Coalition against Daesh of its solidarity in the wake of this unspeakable attack and reaffirms its commitment to the security of all Iraqis. It encourages the Iraqi government and the regional authorities of Kurdistan to continue their cooperation with a view to ensuring the security of all Iraqis, and to identify the perpetrators of this attack. France reiterates its determination to pursue its efforts within the Global Coalition against Daesh with its local and international partners.
