Iraq – Humanitarian situation in Fallujah (April 11, 2016)

France is concerned about the humanitarian situation in Fallujah, where several tens of thousands of civilians are trapped in the city being held by daesh.

There are reports of food shortages and a lack of medicines, while humanitarian actors do not have access to the city.

We commend the Iraqi government’s decision to establish humanitarian corridors and call on the Iraqi authorities to do everything possible to protect civilians and allow them to receive the humanitarian assistance that they need.

France stands alongside Iraq in the fight against the barbarity being inflicted by daesh against all Iraqi people.
